Only The Strong Survive Scholarship

Scholarship Description:

The "Only the Strong Survive" Scholar Award is a scholarship created for those who possess the academic capabilities to be exceptional students. Education has multiple avenues, many that have yet to be explored by current graduating high school seniors. This scholarship is given on the premise that the Scholar has yet to reach their peak academic potential or greatest educational achievement. This award is a reminder that there is a community of people hoping to see you sprout into a harvest of knowledge for others to reap.

 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be a current high school senior attending Blanche Ely High School School
  • Applicant must have a 3.0 GPA or higher to be eligible
  • Enroll in an accredited college/university upon graduation
  • Must have a financial need
  • Must complete essay

ESSAY REQUIREMENTS:

Each applicant is required to write a 1-2 page paper (double spaced) responding to the following:

What life/family experiences do you believe have shaped who you are, and/or what challenges have you overcome to make it to this point in your education (graduating high school and entering college)? Explain why obtaining a college education will be one of your greatest accomplishments.

 

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS:

One applicant will be chosen for the following scholarship:
 —$1995 to be used towards tuition, housing, books, etc.

Scholarship will be mailed directly to the college/university the applicant will be attending.

 

DEADLINE:

Applications must be submitted by Monday, April 15, 2019.
