May 7th, 2016……. Date of the official launch party for the Blanche Ely High Alumni and Friends Association. The event location was the Embassy Suites Hotel, Ocean Drive, Deerfield Beach, Florida. We had two guest speakers for the evening, Dr. Karlton Johnson, current principal of Blanche Ely High School and Dr. Eunice Harvey, Dean of Girls when Mrs.Blanche G. Ely was the school’s principal. We also, asked Pompano Beach City Commissioner Ed Phillips Ely alumni) to share a few words with us. Commissioner Phillips was a student at Blanche Ely when Mrs. Ely was principal.
